Moscow’s residents have a new reason to enjoy their favorite baked goods. In the first quarter of 2025, the city’s bakeries increased the production of bread and confectionery items by 31.7% compared to the same period last year. This impressive growth was highlighted by Moscow Deputy Mayor Maksim Liksutov and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Anatoly Garbuzov.
During the first three months of the year, local manufacturers produced over 126,000 tons of bread, including semi-finished products, and more than 73,000 tons of short shelf-life baked goods.
Several product categories showed notable growth:
Pies: +22.8%
Wheat flour products: +7%
Sweet baked goods: +3%
Among the leading enterprises in the Moscow bakery industry are Cheremushki, Dobryninsky, Kolomensky, and Drugoy Khleb. Scientific support for the sector continues to be provided by a specialized research institute.
Looking to the future, a new food production cluster is already being established in the TiNAO (Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative Districts) to boost further development in the industry.
With more bread being produced, there are even more reasons for cozy breakfasts and family dinners across the city.
